Postby bmw535v8e39 » Wed, 09 Jul 2008 17:35:34 UTC

hi,i have a problem with abs on a 2001 e38 750,the 3 yellow lights illuminate on the dash after its been started for about a minute, its the brake symbol, abs and dsc i think,i put it into a local garage to diagnose and they said it was the sensors within the abs pump.the car has been sold and i have to fix this before the guy collects,a new pump is £700 from bmw,can just the sensors be replaced?,i obviously dont want to spend a fortune, ive never heard of such a thing, can anybody give me advice please

abs problem

Postby mogsy » Tue, 22 Jul 2008 15:39:14 UTC

hi, i had the same problem with my 1999 740i sport last year, the electronic module which screws to the pump body was the culprit.a new costs 700 pounds.
i had mine repaired with 2 year warrenty for 150, problem gone. i think these units get cooked over time with the engine heat, noticed abs unit on z4 mounted low down with large heat shield around it. check on ebay for abs repair. good luck!! :)
