I am very pleased to tell you that Good Old Simon from Emaps has done himself proud again !! My 330d manual 184bhp M Sport Touring has had Simon's magic worked on it and to say i am pleased is an understatement. The car was always quick as standard but after a year of ownership I was getting a little bored with the power and its delivery. I was well aware from the FSH that it is a very well looked after machine and has never missed a service, confident of this I decided Simon was the man for the job, especially after all the great reviews about him on this forum, so I can only thank everyone else for that. My reason for the remap was based on the wish for more power, speed and if at all possible more economy. I have to admit due to the fact that I live in Central London I still haven’t managed to get out of 3rd gear this makes my review a little limited, however from my reduced knowledge I am very impressed ! The torque is astounding, acceleration rapid (also described as off a stick) & the revs are like silk, especially in the lower gears. The power is much more progressive & useable now and in a very bazaar way makes me want to use the throttle more wisely, it seems that due to the improved throttle response my over zealous right foot hunting a Turbo fix has been to the Priory and is now a reformed character. This has had a dramatic effect on fuel consumption raising my ridiculously short stop-start journeys from 18MPG to 21.2 MPG (according to the OBC) which even though indirectly linked to the remap shows my change in driving style and gives me a perverse urge to hug vegetarians and eco warriors. The true test will be a full tank brim to brim test which will come when I plan to leave the big smoke for a weekend and get a decent variety of Motorways, A-roads and country lanes. I especially cant wait to hit the open road and some fast twisty B-roads and obviously will report more when I have. |

It does make quite a difference, doesn't it!
I'm hoping I can get my new 330d mapped once run in as my current car was transformed with a light remapping.
Wait 'til you get on the open road |

Yes a real difference, Simon is a really nice bloke as well very professional and explains things in easy to understand "layman’s terms" ( ideal for Thickies like me Lol ) it was a shame I didn’t have more time to chat to him and pick his brain for more advise but I was having a manic day.
If anyone is thinking about getting their car remapped but are undecided I recommend you pull you finger out and call Simon without delay ! |

Did the insurance company want a lot of extra money (or did you not mention it).
Oh so tempting ! |

An honest trader and good! I know from reading on here the honest part and I emailed him about remapping my car and got a very honest response with the fact that I won't get a great deal more bhp or torque. |

I would do one but the rear bumper has to be removed to get the ECU's. The rear bumper is £25k to replace if I break it...lol |

Hi,
Just wanted to share with you the excellent work Simon from Emaps did on remapping my 335D last Thursday in Surrey. His professionalism, knowledge in the subject matter and competative pricing makes it a very easy recommendation for anyone who is thinking or even just wants to know more about car tuning. Fantastic service from a very nice guy. Thanks Simon
The car was already quick but I wanted to explore its full potential! Now after the amazing remap, it goes like a rocket. In fact, I no longer need to switch it to Sports mode to really enjoy the thrill of driving it! I haven't done very accurate timing as yet but I believe it is now doing 0-60 in around 5 seconds flat. In addition, the pull mid-top range is now absolutely incredible. I actually did a little road test with Simon afterwards on the A3 to see the difference and I know Simon enjoyed the experience, albeit maybe a bit too scary for him

Thanks for the writeup mable, always very interesting to hear other people's experiences. This is all great news and particularly good timing for me as I have my car booked in with Simon in about 10 days time, when I come back to UK for a month or so and I'm really looking forward to seeing what difference he can make to my 330cd Convertible. I'm working on the Italian Med coast at the moment so have been very lucky to be able to use my car on some of the fantastic roads in the mountains just inland. At this time of year they are almost deserted and I've really been able to enjoy and exploit the power delivery and handling potential of the car, almost always with the roof down - pure heaven! There just aren't enough roads like that in UK (with some notable exceptions, particularly in parts of Scotland and Wales) and if you find them, invariably the weather isn't so great.
I've only had the car just over a month and it feels and drives like a new car. It's an 05 plate with 28,000 gentle miles on it, and a full service history so should be perfect for Simon's magic touch. It's my third BMW 3 litre diesel, having had a couple of 530ds (193 BHP) 4 or 5 years ago. This engine feels the sweetest and smoothest of the ones I've had and the 6 speed box is a joy to use. Once I've had the remap done I will post a thread with my thoughts. It's hard for me to imagine how this engine can be made much better (apart from fitting 2 turbos - I'll say it before anyone else does) but from what I've read on this excellent forum I have every confidence that Simon will amaze me. I'm looking forward to the silly grin I know will be on my face! |

Thanks for all the feedback
No problem with a Group buy on the Veyron, as long as I can do a test drive afterwards for a couple of days |
