we're currently negotiating on an exchange, although my pending choice is a bit left field compared to the 530i. Once I know it's all squared away I'll feed back...

Yep we saw you got in alright, just be nice to have a solution to problem that admittedly rarely happens but you could turn to before breaking a window

I find the lights are great, I will never go back to Halogen. I have noticed the high beam does re-focus for distance when up at motorway speeds . When at lower speeds, around lanes etc. they do appear to be high, compared to older halogen ones, although I find they light more of the road ahead despite 'feeling' too high. Turn on the front fogs though, they go into short and wide mode - which is terrible, even in fog. It could be they need to be 'reset', as they are hooked into all sorts of bits on the suspension to get ride height etc. ? If you are under warranty, can't hurt to get them checked.

I am trying to go for a BMW shop, but I need two quotes. The local place I went to for a second quote today said they would fill in the deep scratch on the bonnet and 'blend' in over 25% width of the bonnet. Another set of light marks up near the windscreen, they would polish then clear lacquer the whole bonnet and it would all be invisible. I had to wait for the estimate chap, as the two people in front of me were bringing cars back following repairs to complain about the finish . Be interesting to get their quote. The headlight itself costs a packet.

Good news on the re-code, the last time the car was coded (for various niggles) it took 7 hours to complete. They were very pleased none of it failed, as it would have taken another 7 hours. Not seen one take that long before they said.
Yes this is a sight that is becoming quite common on 19" run-flats. What pressures have you been running? Almost certainly caused by low pressures, combined with aggressive camber settings.

cheers

Well today I lifted the carpets, and fitted some 1.5" plastic discs to the underneath, with a hole suitable for screwing the velcro discs into, so in future they won't pull out.

AIS it's no big deal, just me being fussy. Just ignore me...lol

  glad you're happy with it......

However, I think it's better this way than the way it was in my brother's Mitsubishi Pajero Junior...... it had the pins (like nails) coming up from the carpet and into 2 holes in the mat.... so everytime you drove the car, you would find this pin in your shoe sole......

Yes it's fine now cheers. I think GM/VX's idea of using specially built-n plastic peg things which come up out of the carpet about 3/8", and then the mats which have a plastic ring in them just snaps into place over the raised peg. Whatever's used, as long as it holds them in place I dont suppose it matters.

Just had to order a set of wheel centre's, some toe rag stole all 4 of mine yesterday while at the supermarket, what's the world coming to eh. Obviously thought mine looked nicer.

I still have not done ours I must confess. The car went through another period of inactivity tbh.

However, the leak almost stopped for a while when being used again and then has just re-started, along with another patch, albeit smaller, near the front of the block. I am thinking that should mean it is the rocker cover gasket surely?!

I have got a copy of the TIS guide for replacing and had a quote for the gasket from my local dealer of £62. Does that sound about right? I will then fit when it is not so cold/rain/cold again!!

In fact the last few MOT's have been bushes and suspension arms. I hope you are talking different parts and not 'more of the same' replacements, I'm aware some pattern parts just don't last at all. Far worse than the life of OEM bits.
So your car fails the MOT on a bush. Howdo you ensure its a "longer lasting" bush that is fitted. If he said to me what bush do you want, i wouldn't have a clue.

                                      Hi

Been debating for some time about changing my MSport 20" wheels for some 21"

I know the LCI model range will have new wheels - are these economical to buy and even available to buy?

Will there be some new styles in the accessory brochure coming out with the LCI too?

Thanks
