E61 REAR CORNER PARKING SENSOR NOT CLICKING

Postby shairaz » Thu, 24 Sep 2009 01:51:33 UTC

Hi

The pdc is not working and all the sensors click apart from one on the rear bumper corner.

Two questions, where can i get one from apart from dealers? And how do I remove the old sensor, does the bumoer need to be removed?

Thanks

New sensors only available from dealers AFAIK, cost is around £100 ish (probably more now the £ is so weak). Sometimes used ones turn up on ebay. The new sensors come pre-painted, unless you happen to find a used one in your colour you'll have to paint it and there's some conflicting info as to whether it'll affect the function of it.
The bumper is easy enough to remove, do a search on here for the info.

Quick update, went into BMW and the rear sensor is not getting a signal from the pdc control unit - they've checked the sensor and all wires for any breaks etc.....
New control unit required, £375 fitted inc diags.... Not too bad

No goodwill! Car is 6 months out of warranty and has done 160,000 miles!

Never mind
