How do I know what model my bimmer is?

Postby gr2 » Fri, 18 Jan 2008 20:08:20 UTC

Just recently bought it and havent a clue about E36/E46/E90 classifications..

All I know is tht its a Year 2000 318SEi 5 Door..

I didn't get a service manual, its not mentioned in the log book, and I could not find it written anywhere under the bonnet, boot or inside the car..

If i posted a pic could anyone tell me what it is, as it may come in handy when looking to buy parts for it online?!? I'm missing a CD magazine cartridge, and all the ones advertised on fleabay refer to the car using their E** model numbers.

Failing that pop your cars VIN into this parts viewer and it will show what E number it is, but it is an E46 at that age.

I had the same problem, called my local BMW stealership and they told me the details.
