What % Dealer discount can i expect off the new list price?

Postby KK3960 » Sun, 23 Sep 2007 17:38:10 UTC

Trying to negotiate a discount off a new 530D, how much sensible discount can i expect considering the car & spec. lists at around £50K ? How much did you manage to negotiate off a new BMW with the dealers? Also what % APR's have you negotiated with dealers?

Any help would be great before I sign on the dotted line!

Many thanks!

Without looking i would guess that most internet brokers would get you 11%-15% off new to your spec or more if car already built but spec may not suit.

Try www.drivethedeal.com and get a price to take with you into negotiations. Note the DTD prices include a £1500 extra discount if you take the BMW finance offer so you will need to factor that into your equations.

Think you should be looking at about 12 - 14% on a 5 series - more if you take the finance offer. Try a few local dealers to see which gets closest to DTD prices. If they get within a couple of hundred go for it!

Slightly OTT but checking DTD I noticed that Mercedes ask £80 for a fire extinguisher!

I'd be interested in seeing your spec for the £50K 530d?

Its a very well spec'd 535d M Sport money too. Curious as to why the o/p chose a 530d - unless hes a manual box man?
