Immobiliser Problem

Postby dwight » Fri, 23 Apr 2010 08:02:44 UTC

Hi,I've got a P-reg 518 Touring and the battery went flat and since then it seems to have immobilsed itself,I've put a new battery in but still not doing anything,I don't have any plips for the car but have a small key but it only seems to turn the siren on/off.Anyone got any ideas how to get it un -immobilsed?any info greatly appreciated, thanks.

well I think it's immobilsed but maybe not as when you turn the key it doesn't turn the engine over-it's just silent nothing happens.

Is there voltage on starter solenoid when you try to start? Seized starter solenoid?

what kind of alarm do you have - e34s had sigma installed by bmw but none with a key? I had mine removed as both key fobs failed and had enough of radio interference (petrol stations etc) whis was often incapacitating remote key fob.
