Postby magic77 » Wed, 29 Nov 2006 09:02:03 UTC

just been checking which engine type my 320D has and it come up m47N

originally I thought it was the m47.

Does anyone know what exactly are the differences between the two engines

I think you will find it's the power, the N is the later, slightly larger capacity motor, with higher power output. 136bhp as opposed to 150bhp for the N version.
Until you've driven a modern diesel of this calibre, you just won't get it!

As Mike said, higher output.

Rather different engine really with common rail injection etc. Not just a little upgrade of the 136hp.
