9C77 Auxiliary Water Pump

Postby BillyC27 » Thu, 28 Jun 2012 07:52:58 UTC

Recently I bought myself an OBD2 cable for the car, so that I could read and reset fault codes.

INPA read the faults, most of which were glow plug related and a few for the DPF. However, one did stand out in the KLIMA category: 9C77.

I've cleared the faults and this is the only one to return. A bit of reading, and there's not a lot of info out there, reveals that there is a secondary pump to ensure a constant feed of hot coolant to the heater matrix for the cabin. The error suggests that this is no longer working and that there is no signal from the unit.

It's no biggy, but has anyone else had this problem, and if so how have you dealt with it. Before I go out and source a new pump I just want to know if the faulty one is worth some attention.

TIA
