Noisy Fuel Pump?

Postby jambers » Tue, 28 Jun 2011 19:58:20 UTC

So I opened the car door today, just back from 125 mile motorway journey, with the engine running whilst going around to open my garage door....just allowing the turbo to cool off. I noticed a buzzing noise coming from the rear of the drivers side, reminiscent of our E28 520i which had that tell-tale whilstle/whine/buzz from the electric fuel pump. Sounded 100% the same, but I've never heard it on e60 before (3 years of ownership).

Question is "Should I be worried???"

Was it done by dealer? Dealer newer change fuel filter, they only puts the tick in the service book and also changes you for that. Its under the car, front passenger seat area.

They do change fuel filter every 3rd Oil Service.
Personally I think that's too long of an interval. But it's 'official' I suppose.
