Power steering noise / vibration... 320d Touring 2002

Postby stant1man » Mon, 31 Mar 2008 00:06:41 UTC

Over the last couple of days I have noticed that when pulling up to junctions or slowing before turning that a drone comes from the power steering. I need to move the steering side to side for it to go away. I checked the fluid level and all seems well, fluid is perfect pink and not dirty. Has anyone experienced this problem before?

ye, tyre pressures are fine...

The noise is deffo like power steering under heavy load. I hope a valve in the rack or the pump isn't knackered.

I'm considering flushing it out and putting in new fluid with a conditioner....
