E46 316 plastic undershield ?
Recent purchase of car so getting to know it:
The engine undertray/undershield is cracked through a long way,
and is bodge tied together. It droops really low under car.
How is it secured under engine, and is a new one likely to be readily available from Parts depts?
Is fixing a new one in place a trivial job?
Presumably they often get damaged when car driven over object in road,
or over rough ground?

yes, it won't be too difficult I suppose. Check at www.realoem.com for the correct part no. and order it from one of the $tealers. The cover is fixed by a few philips screws.

Might need to get it up on axle stands or ramps as the ground clearance is pretty low at the front.
When its being replaced check for damage to the engine, sounds like someone really gave it a bashing!
