DSC What happens if I take the fuse out.

Postby fingerprintstudios » Tue, 08 Oct 2013 16:41:19 UTC

I have posted on here before, about 14 months ago I replaced by hydro unit for the dsc control. This was undertaken to stop the intermitent breaking from high speed to low speed etc.

14 Months later the problems are back again and BMW servicing have noted that I should keep paying them money to find the problem which they cant find.

Can anyone tell me if I disconnect or take the fuse from the DSC and or ABS unit what will happen.

Will this be dangerous, cause problems with car etc?

Any help is appreciated

Do you mean temporarily as a means of fault finding, or permanently?

These driver aids are there for a reason.

I'd also imagine removing the fuse would log a fault code and bring on the cluster warning light, an MOT fail.
Never underestimate the power of thrawn.

disablign the DSC completely - prepare for difficult driving when roads are wet or snow or driving hard.

Disabling aBS - bad idea!

In short, I think the same fuse disables ABS and DSC, somethign I wouldnt do at all but I understand your frustration - time to find a new dealer, even an indie expert!
