Adaptive M-Sport Suspension on F30

Postby Fossicker » Tue, 29 Jan 2013 15:49:02 UTC

Just trying to find out if anybody here has got adaptive M-sport suspension and how soft (and hard) is it? We are looking at a 320d M-Sport which has this set up. I have always found the E90 M-sport suspension far too hard but understand they have toned it down a bit for the new model.

Thanks.

I have just bought my wife an F30 320i Sport XDrive, it dose not have adaptive suspension but it rides fairly well even on the 19" run flats.

Can't speak from experience in the F30, but testers and users are reporting it is a good bit of kit. It is suggested the sport setting is slightly firmer than the passive M-sport suspension, but more refined, due to the 'on the fly' adaption.

You have the two basic settings in the 3-series, comfort and sport. So it is felt they are not too far apart for the obvious reason, of not too much extreme. But the comfort setting is certainly viewed as such, and better than the standard passive suspension.

I find the 5-series is quite marked from comfort to sport, but do have the 3 setting levels with 'normal' in between, which allows a wider working envelope it would seem.

Can you actually get in an F30 car with VDC (M-sport adaptive) suspension? Best way to judge it for yourself.

I have just got a F31 Msport with adaptive suspension and 18" wheels and have found it a lot more comfortable than my previous 525se. You have the option of comfort or sport setting but I haven't had it long enough to try the same journey with the different settings yet.

Sounds like a good decision. We test drove an F30 today and were so impressed that we bought it!!!
