E92 bulb failure warning - Arghhh!
Car is an 06 325i E92. A few days ago, I got a warning light to say that one of my rear fog lights had failed. Sure enough, the N/S rear fog light was out. When I checked it, I found that the bulb holder hadn't been fully turned home. A simple fix - I turned the bulb holder fully home and I had two rear fog lights. However, every time I start my car now I get a warning that one of my lights has failed. I've checked them and they are all fine. I've even replaced both rear fog lioght bulbs as I've read that this warning light can illuminate when a bulb is about to fail.
One thing I've noticed is if I start my car, go to Check Control, the bulb failure warning lights up. If I hold down the BC button, I get the code CC-ID 136. Does anybody know what this means? I've spent ages searching this site (and the internet in general) but there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer to this seemingly common problem. Any help would be gratefully accepted.

I did a quick search, it comes a few times on the E90 site, the code seems to refer to a bulb failure, but the only fix I have seen so far is to give the bulb holder a squirt with WD40! Got to be worth a go?

Thanks for that, I'll give it a go (even though I have no bulbs out).

Hi i get this alot at work, my bulb warning light is on. so i check the lights all working ok, but on further inspection find they have fitted a 5w bulb in place of a 21w or a 12v instead of a 24v. I am not trying to say you cant read a bulb but are you sure they are all the right wattage?

CC-ID 136 is left brake light failure

I had a failure light up for 2 weeks for a front left indicator while it was working perfectly fine. After a while it just stopped coming up and (touch wood) has not returned.
Sometimes I think it's just one of those things!

Spent a while this morning trying to sort this. Took rear light clusters apart, cleaned all contacts, sprayed liberally with WD40 and it hasn't made any difference - I'm still getting the bulb failure warning. I've given up.
