E46 Saloon Rear Number Plate Light
Just been told that one of my number plate lights isnt working.
On closer inspection I notice both lights are corroded and the plastic has cracked.
I plan to clean the connectors first, but will require the new plastic covers.
Does anyone have the part number for the covers and also the full part which includes the boot handle (just incase!)
Its annoying that you cant purchase seperate light units rather than the boot handle and lights combined.
Would be interested to know if this is a common problem or just old age!
Cheers,
Darren

Yes it's a common E46 problem - I had exactly the same issue. In my case, both lights were so badly corroded that the bulbs just fell out when I took the covers off, and I had to replace the entire handle/lights assembly.

Mine cost £60 from site sponsor Cotswold BMW - see their section in this forum.

Id go for the 'led' light units on ebay mate , cost half the price and are nice and bright, longer lift than std bulbs. Sealed units too
