X3 Wiper Linkage

X3 Wiper Linkage

Hi Folks,

Got a problem with a 2007 wiper linkage...common problem I think on other models.

Essentially the wiper is clipping the bonnet on the way back down.

Looks like it needs a bush or something on it to stop it happening.

The stealers will only sell the entire linkage with motor for £288!

Anyone encountered this before and have a solution?

In case anyone is interested.... I have managed to fix this... took a good few hours to strip it all down and put it back together again mind!

My father in law made a metal bush to fit all the way inside the original plastic casing which had worn away. Solid as a rock now.

Poor original design!
